After a meal of grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and all kinds of side
dishes, the membership got down to business. The new board has some
of the old members, and some new members.

The bylaws were also voted on and approved. Obligatory payment for
volunteer expenses was voted out. Voted in were the guidelines for dealing
with disruptive members and non-members. Also voted in was the power
of the board to choose board members to fill chairs that become vacant.

ABOUT DESERT DOMINION We are a local pansexual, panfetish
organization and welcome everyone regardless of orientation, age (18 and
above), race, creed, religion, kink, etc. We would like to invite those
who are in the lifestyle, new to the scene or just curious about bdsm to
come to our events, meet us, socialize with us and learn with us. We are
not a dating service or sex club. We do not find partners for people. We
exist to support, educate, and socialize with one another in a safe, sane,
and consensual domain. Our members possess a variety of years of experience,
of education in related lifestyle activities, and have widely diverse interests.
FEEDBACK NEEDED! To fully utilize our space, we will be having
seminars on subjects such as flogging, waxing. play-piercing, etc, etc.
There will be hands on training to learn how to do all these lovely things
that we like to do. The board could use some feedback from you in the
area of what you would like to see for educational events - both the two
hour seminars and the H.O.T's (hands on training sessions). Also - any
other activities that you would like to see sponsored such as discussion
or support groups. You can contact the Board through the website, newsletter
editor, DD phone line, or in person.
THE HANKY CODE One of the continuing questions since before
Desert Dominion organized its first party has been how do people with
similar interests find each other. As the club has grown and continues
to grow this has become an even more difficult task. This has been a question
confronting the community for many years and there is an answer, the hanky
code, and I'm tossing it out here as one way people can signal their interest
in particular facets of BDSM. For those without pockets or hankies or just
looking for something a little more subtle, a ribbon could be used in place
of a hanky. Common usage is that the top will wear hankies (or ribbons) on
the left side, while the bottom will wear hankies (or ribbons) on the right
side. Switches can wear ribbons or hankies on both sides. I'm listing some
of the more common colors used, as well as some of the more interesting variations.
I swear, I didn't make any of this up.

We'll meet for our Munch at the Broadway Cafe, (southeast
corner of Broadway and Columbus) at 7:00 pm. Dutch treat. Keep an eye
on this section in case it becomes necessary to move the Munch to another
establishment. This is a chance to introduce yourself to like-minded
others and enjoy an evening of conversation and great food! Just a reminder:
This is a social event, a group of equals meeting equals to discuss mutual
topics of interest. The munch is geared to support, making friends, and
getting to know others who may well be candidates for play at a later
date. Memberships and renewals are available.
Unless otherwise noted, all DD sponsored events except the Munches
will be held in the DD space at 3843 E. 37th Street.
